Editorial standards
Last updated: May 27, 2026
These standards describe how PilatesGripSocks researches, writes, reviews, and updates the content on this site. They apply to every article published in our Journal and to every product description on our store.
1. Our mission
We exist to help people choose the right gear for Pilates, Reformer, Barre, and Yoga — and to use it for longer. Our content exists to make that decision easier, not to manufacture demand. We would rather lose a sale than publish something that sells a product the reader does not need.
2. Who writes for us
Every article has a named author with a bio page that lists their role, expertise areas, and external profiles. We do not publish content under generic bylines like "Staff" or "Admin." Where an article requires technical knowledge outside the author's stated expertise, it is co-authored or reviewed by someone with that experience, and both names appear in the byline.
3. How we research
Original wear-test data, studio observation, and conversations with instructors are our primary sources. Where we cite secondary sources, we prefer, in order:
- Peer-reviewed academic research and government or industry-body publications.
- Manufacturer technical guidance for materials claims (silicone heat tolerance, cotton staple length, dye fastness).
- Established medical and physiotherapy resources for any claim about the body.
- First-hand reporting from named instructors, studio owners, or product engineers.
We avoid citing other commerce sites for product claims. If a fact can only be verified against a competitor's marketing page, we treat it as unverified.
4. How we review content before it goes live
- Draft — written by a named author with their first-hand notes or research.
- Fact-check — every numeric claim, comparative claim, and product specification is checked against the source we cited.
- Edit — checked for clarity, structure, and brand voice.
- Final review — read by a second pair of eyes before publishing.
5. AI use disclosure
We use AI tools for spell-checking, idea-clustering, and to help structure outlines. We do not publish AI-generated body copy as the final draft. Every sentence on this site has been written or substantially rewritten by a human who can be reached at the contact address below.
If a future post does include AI-assisted body copy, it will be disclosed in a byline tag ("Co-written with AI, edited by [author]") and we will say which sections.
6. Independence and conflicts of interest
We sell grip socks. When our articles discuss grip socks, that is a conflict of interest, and we name it. We will not pretend our products are the best in every category; where a competitor is better on a specific dimension, we say so.
We do not currently run sponsored posts, paid placements, or affiliate links on this site. If that ever changes, the disclosure will sit at the top of any affected article and in this section.
7. Updates and freshness
Every article shows a publish date and, where applicable, an updated date. We re-read every article on the site at least once a year and rewrite anything that has become inaccurate or out of date. We do not update the "updated" date for cosmetic edits — only for changes a reader would care about.
8. Reader feedback and corrections
If you spot an error, please tell us — see our separate corrections policy at /corrections-policy. Every reported error is reviewed and we publish substantive corrections with a dated note on the affected page.
